OffNet Chat Help

A private, end-to-end encrypted messenger that works three ways: over Bluetooth mesh when friends are nearby, over peer-to-peer Wi-Fi for fast transfers, and over an optional internet bridge when you're apart.

How do I add a friend who is with me?

Friends tab → Add Friend. One of you scans the other's QR code — the other phone gets an accept prompt automatically.

How do I add a friend who is far away?

Add Friend → "Create invite link" → share it over any app you trust. When they tap it and accept, you're connected through the internet. Both phones need the internet bridge (globe icon) turned on.

My message isn't delivering.

Check the three transport icons on the Chats screen: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and the globe. Gray means off — tap to enable. If your friend isn't nearby, the globe (internet bridge) must be on, on both phones.

Are my messages really private?

Yes. Everything is encrypted on your device with keys only you and your friend hold. Phones that relay your messages — and the optional cloud relay — only ever see scrambled data. You can verify a friendship in person via Friends → your friend → Safety code.

How do I block someone?

Open the friend's detail page → "Block & remove friend." You can choose whether they're notified or blocked quietly.

How do I delete everything?

Settings → "Delete Identity & All Data" removes your identity, chats, friends, cloud records, and push subscriptions, irreversibly.
